Salvaging Lucky/Unlucky Title Points
I tried a search to see if this had been asked b4 and didn't find any, so sorry if this has been brought up already.
I just wanted to get the thoughts from everyone on the forum about weather or not they think Anet should have retaining an item (when salvaging mods, material, etc) count toward the Lucky & Unlucky title track. Basically if you salvage an item and it is destroyed then you get Unlucky points and if you retain the item you get Lucky points. What do you think? How many points should be given for each attempt? |

Cool idea i think. Have it be like the locked chest points, the more likely you are to destroy an item, the more points you get if you retain the item. Only not as much points as the lockpick thing provides, obviously.
haha yeah right, wishful thinking they OBVIOUSLY wouldn't count if such a thing were to happen. |

@OP: Good idea
Too hard to implement. In fact, I think it was stated for the faction retroactivity (donating kurz/lux for amber/jadite prior to it giving points and prior to the double) that such a thing is impossible to track. Agreed with this restriction. Wouldn't count. IMO, same with regular salvage kits. Salvage kits=auto-unlucky. Perfect Salvage Kits=auto-lucky Of course, with how many golds people get, the numbers would have to be lower then the numbers for using lockpicks. Perhaps take the lockpick numbers and divide by ten. Meaning retain=25 points and losing=25*(retention rate) |

Tho perf salvage shouldnt count. And I guess it should be like 1 point for blue, 2 for purple, 3 for gold. |

Noboody is saying they are hard. Lucky & Unlucky points are based on games of chance. When you use a lockpick you chance breaking it, and this counts. When you salvage an item you chance destroying it, but this doesn't count. Since it is a matter of chance it would seem resonable to have it count toward the title. |

I like it. This is another way for people who just play the game for fun to add to the title. Obviously this is barely going to impact grinders.

I don't see any practical way to make it work. First of all you'd have to ignore Perfect Salvage because it always retains the item, and you'd have to ignore the Salvage kit because it always salvages.
The Expert and Superior kits can be forced to destroy the item intentionally by choosing to salvage crafting materials - so the only case in which it would actually work would be IF you used an Expert or Superior AND you tried to retain the item. Everyone would have max unlucky very soon . |

if you want to retain your lockpick just open 50 gold chests. There are several missions that will allow you do find atleast 2 chest in a 5 minute run. Jet get some run skills and off you go!!! this will not help in with treasure hunter title as they are not 600 gold chests and the synergy is lost but it does up your odds of keeping your lockpick.
I currently am doing this in a low lvl area of Ascalon. I can get 2 chests while running through it. Just hold down on alt as you run while loooking around to find the chest. I have an 81% chance to keep my lockpics. the drops are only worth around 100 gold but I tend to keep my lockpick enough to buy a new one every 6 runs or so. this make is sustainable + if I fall a little behind I just kill some charr grab some carvings and sell them for 20 gold each to make up the difference. I currently have 20 lockpicks so I am good for a week or so with just straight Lucky/Unlucky title running. I do know that there are better faster ways but none as consistant as this run. |
